Capture life's moments

Hello crafters!

Good to be back again after a long break. My hubby and I have traveled in the USA for four weeks and when we got back to Sweden again we celebrated my hubby's 50th birthday and shortly after that we had a wonderful Christmas with our family. So, lots of fun lately for us but not so much crafting for me. Hope you all had a wonderful Christmas too and I wish you all a Happy New Year 2019.

This is my DT card for Ally's Angels and our first challenge for 2019. The theme is anything goes:

I started with a white paper (watercolor paper), my distress oxides, stamps and stencils. Then added texture paste using more stencils and also acrylic paint from DecoArt Media.

I've die cut parts from Tim Holtz pipeline die and used grit paste, distress oxides and DecoArt acrylic paint. Metal decorations from Tim Holtz except for the on/off switch from Prima. The background stamp is new for me, purchased on my USA trip, and it's from Carabelle Studios

Paper doll with a light wash of pyrrole orange DecoArt acrylic paint. I made his glasses with a stamp and matching die from TH, a bit oversized for this guy maybe, LOL, but wanted to use them anyway.

For the stamped bulb I created a decoration using metal wire and acrylic paint. The ticket is made with a stamp from TH/Stampers Anonymous, stamped with Archival ink and colored with distress oxides. The bulb stamp is from the set inventor 2 also from TH/Stampers Anonymous

For the base I've used kraft. The second layer is corrugated cardboard and the third layers is this blue coredination cardstock with sanded edges.

Material
Watercolor paper from Panduro
Kraft
Corrugated cardboard
Coredination cardstock
Die from Tim Holtz/Sizzix: pipeline
Stencils from Tim Holtz/stampers anonymous
Stamps from Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous: inventor 2, going somewhere, ticket booth, correspondence
Background stamp from Carabelle studio
Metal decorations from Tim Holtz and Prima
Handmade metal decoration for the bulb made with metal wire
Acrylic paint from DecoArt Media: pyrrole orange, burnt umber, quinacridone gold
Distress oxides from Tim Holtz/Ranger: chipped sapphire, walnut stain, stormy sky, rusty hinge, spiced marmalade, brushed corduroy, victorian velvet, black soot
Archival Ink from Ranger: cobalt
Texture paste opaque matte from Ranger

Challenge
Use something New (I've used my new background stamp from Carabelle Studios)

Here are some photos from our visit in California, Nevada and Florida:
 Griffith park, Los Angeles

Newport beach, south LA

 Valley of fire

 Valley of fire

Longhorn big sheep in Valley of fire. They didn't care the least about us so they are probably used to meet visitors in the park. How wonderful it is to unexpectedly meet wild animals, it made my day.

 Racetrack Playa, Death Valley

 Teakettle Junction, Death Valley

  Ubeeheebe crater, Death Valley

"Moving" stone at Racetrack Playa, Death Valley. The stones move across the dried lake bed leaving a trail behind them in the cracked mud. An amazing place to visit!

Sunset at Zabriskie Point, Death Valley

Unexpected visitor outside our hotel at Pompano beach, Florida. We don't have wild iguanas in Sweden so we were so excited to meet this guy. I think he was on his guard when we carefully approached him to take this photo so I really hope we didn't scare him too much

THANK YOU FOR STOPPING BY
Hugs, Lisa

I've been flipping through your recent posts and love evey single one of them; just don't have time to comment on each or take a long look, but I promise I will be back. So much inspiration on your blog, and I'm delighted you share your process and product list. I just had to leave a comment here, because I was so wowed by your rust! Great project! And fun to see parts of USA I've not been to. Although, I have to say I have no desire to see LA. Next time to come to USA you need to stop at the sunny beaches in North Carolina!
