Rick St Dennis Pick of the Year Nominee

Hi all,

I´ve great news to share with you. I´m nominated for Pick of the Year at Rick St Dennis MFA. I´m very excited and at first I could hardly believe my eyes, I had to reed it over and over again just to be sure. I was voted Pick of the Week in february this year and now the EDT voted me Pick of the Month for february which makes me a nominee for Pick of the Year - YAY. The competition is hard, there are 12 other nominees, all fabulous, but I´m so happy and honored just to be a nominee. The competition is decided by voting and you can vote for your favorite in the comment section at Rick St Dennis MFA if you like.

This is my project

You could easily see that I´ve gone crazy with all the metal tape on this one, but you know me by now, I love to work with metal tape on my cards. I´ve used Be Witching from Rick St Dennis, she is a Halloween image and she is colored with my Distress Re-inkers.

Have a great day

Handyman

Hi All
I hope you are having a crafty weekend!

Now I´m going to show you a favorite of mine, Handyman from KennyK. I don´t know how many cards I´ve made using him but I think he is the most frequent used one in my KennyK collection. This card is made for an electrician so I tried to find some electrician stuff to put on my card, like the white cables and the piece holding them together down to the left.

As usual I´ve used a lot of dies from my collection and I think this time they are all from Tim Holtz except for one Cheery Lynn die. Around the image I´ve used to different colors of embossing powder. Crackel paint is also a frequent used favorite and this card is not an exception. The image is colored with Distress Re-inkers.

Have a nice day!

Happy Birthday Mr KennyK

I have used Buggin Drummer for my card. The image is colored with my Distress re-inkers. I´ve used glossy accent on his eye glasses and on the big drum. I just had to use a little "metal" on this card as well so the wings and the letters (cut out with Tim Holtz dies) are made of aluminum tape and than colored with black acrylic paint and Metallic Lustre from Deco Art in the color Gold. I´ve used an embossing plate from Sizzix to create the pattern. The papers are from K-Design. I´ve used dies from Tim Holtz, Cheery Lynn, Marianne Design and Magnolia. The star border and the music border are embossed with three different colors of embossing powder. On the red number 50 and the red "k" I´ve used crackel accent. In the black pocket (Tim Holtz die) at the back of my card I´ve put a hand written birthday greeting to Mr Kiernan as well as inside the card. I put an arrow there so he won´t miss it.

Frankie

Welcome

Todays make is a card with Frankie from Rick StDennis. It may look like a Halloween card and I´m fine with that but that wasn´t my thought. I figured Frankie would feel at home with bats and spider web, but I might be wrong maybe he lives in a modern and bright apartment...with a goldfish...lol

For this card I´ve used:
Image Frankie from Rick StDennis colored with Distress re-inkers
Dies from Cheery Lynn, Magnolia, Tim Holtz, Spellbinder
Stamps (the bottles/sentiments at the bottom) from CraftyIndividuals
Cheese cloth, tulle
Distress Ink Black Soot and Seedless Preserves
Embossing powder in black and purple
White crackel paint inked with my Distresses
Papers from Magnolia and 7gypsies

Halloween

Hi all and welcome to my blog
I hope you are well

I want to welcome SamraBarb and Janine who recently joined my blog. So nice to have you all here.

Today I´ll show you a Halloween card I´ve made for KennyKs Krafty Krew. I´ve used the adorable Trixxie Treat, isn´t she just lovely! This is such a fun theme I think and I had so much fun making this card. At first I was thinking of making a more colorful project with bright orange and purple papers, but than I found this paper stack Seasonal from Tim Holtz. These Halloween papers are mild in colors, almost "washed out" and I fell in love with them right away. I´ve tried to color Miss Trixxie Treat in the same colors as the papers.

The Challenge is
Anything goes
with the twist
Halloween

Prizes: The winner will get 3 KennyK digis of the Winner´s Choice, 5 if twist is used. Top 3, chosen by the Krew, will be rewarded with one (1) digi each. Remember you must use a KennyK digi to enter. You could find them here. We have lots of fabulous inspiration for you to see over at KennyKs Krafty Krew so check out what my team mates have made this time.

This is how I made my card
I´ve colored her with my Distress Re-inkers and I´ve cut out the hat and the pumpkin for a 3D look. The papers are from Tim Holtz stack Seasonal. The spider web and the flower are made with aluminum tape and cut out with a Cheery Lynn die and a Tim Holtz die and then I´ve used black acrylic paint and some Metallic Lustre in Copper from Deco Art to get the right look. The house, the bats, the number 31 and the leaves are cut out with Tim Holtz dies. The house is cut out in black cardstock and then I´ve used some Metallic Lustre Copper again. The tags are cut out with a Magnolia die and the sentiments are from Tim Holtz. I´ve used black embossing puffs around the paper edges and also crackel paint and glossy accents on some details. The spiders are made with glue from a hot glue gun and metal wire and sprayed with black paint. To get the hairy legs I´ve glued model train gras on the metal wire before I sprayed it with black paint.

When I was done with them I could almost not touch them because they looked so real. They are scary...if you are afraid of spiders like I am...lol

I will try my luck and enter this card to the following challenges
Create and Inspire (Challenge 28)
Simon Says Stamp Blog (Anything Goes)
Crafting from the Heart (Challenge 75)

have a nice day!
